CHILDREN'S CLASSES AT THE KARATE DOJO...
Because a structure of respect, courtesy and honesty is built into Karate, youth develop the ability to listen, learn, and achieve within a highly regulated environment.
Most sports don't build leadership traits. If you have the necessary skills to perform you're in the game, if not you're on the bench. Karate is different; the program is designed to develop leaders. Each week we teach the youth how to develop such traits as confidence, self-discipline, better listening skills, honesty, integrity and much, much more. The classes combine the fun and excitment of Karate training with weekly character development lessons designed to strengthen our student's spirit, soul and body.
YOUTH TUMBLING & FITNESS
We will be starting a Youth Tumbling & Fitness class Monday - Thursday from 3:15 - 3:45pm.
Monday & Wednesday -- Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Tuesday & Thursday -- 3rd Grade - 6th Grade
There will be NO additional cost for registered Kicking Kids Kamp members!!! :)
We will also be registering non-Kicking Kids Kamp members at a cost of $45 month. ***No group or family discounts available.
This is NOT a Karate class. Students will not dress out in their Gi for this class.
This class has been designed to give students a platform to get receive daily exercise in a controlled and fun environment and also to build basic skills to lead into an extreme martial arts (XMA) program we will begin teaching in the future.
We are EXCITED to able to offer this class to our students!!!
A NOTE FROM SENSEI…
Allie, Laney, Gabby and I have been very fortunate to see our Dojo grow TREMENDOUSLY over the past eight years in both QUALITY and QUANTITY. This past year and a half has seen far more growth than any other year!! I truly am a lucky man to have a business doing what I have an incredible passion for!!
Effective Immediately:
- Due to major constraints on Sensei’s time and Julia’s growing responsibility at the Dojo ALL scheduling, payments, questions, comments, complaints and concerns will need to be taken through Julia in the Front Office during regular business hours. If you need to speak with Sensei, you will need to make an appointment with Julia. Please do not catch Sensei off guard while he is teaching class or in between classes. *Do NOT call or text message Sensei or Julia outside of regular business hours!!!!!
- We have tried for the past eight years to help people in many ways by making slight exceptions. No sooner than we help one person, we get burned by another. There will be NO MORE EXCEPTIONS of any sort at the Dojo. Please do not ask. From Meg on down…
SPARRING EQUIPMENT
Such as in soccer, baseball, football or other sports and disciplines, each student will require additional equipment as they progress in their Karate training. Once a student has reached the level of Yellow Stripe, the first and only equipment they will need until the solid Yellow Belt is a full set of protective Fighting Equipment. Protective Fighting Equipment consists of a Headgear, Handgear, Footgear, and Mouthpiece and for boys - a protective cup. Fighting equipment may only be purchased through The Karate Dojo.
Beginning at Yellow Stripe, the student will now begin working in a safe and practical manner applying the basic kicks and punches which they have been learning in their Karate classes. The excitement of “finally getting to fight” is part of the martial arts “hook” that keeps our students motivated, focused and ready to learn the more important things we really want them to learn.
Beginning at Yellow Stripe, each student must attend a minimum of (4) Fighting Classes between each belt color in order to be eligible to take a Rank Test. Many Children’s Rank Tests for Orange Stripe and above will include drilling basic kicks and punches on Sensei with “Correct Form”.
For safety and hygienic reasons, each child will need to have their own Fighting equipment.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
All training equipment, uniforms, weapons, etc. used at The Karate Dojo by an individual must be purchased through The Karate Dojo by that individual. Thank you for supporting The Karate Dojo for your Health, Fitness and Karate needs.
PAYMENT DROP BOX
To alleviate some of the burden on Julia to receive payments we have installed a Payment Drop Box on the brick wall directly behind the Weights beside the Front Counter at The Karate Dojo.
If paying with Check, please drop off monthly Karate payments or weekly Kamp payments in this box. Julia will empty the Payment Drop Box each night and credit your account with payment.
*Be sure to write in the "MEMO" area of your Check what the payment is for. Should you be paying with Cash or Credit Card please continue to pay Julia.
